When we pause and reflect on events in our lives, the passage of time can bring perspective. We see meaning and connections and movement and beauty that were perhaps unclear to us in real time.
In the words of Danish philosopher Soren Kierkegaard, “Life can only be understood backwords, but it must be lived forwards.” It is good to pause and reflect. To see with new eyes.
Please take three minutes to watch this stunning time lapse video. It was taken over seven days on El Teide, the highest mountain in Spain. The movement of light, clouds, water and wind is breathtaking. Photographer Terje Sorgjerd explains that a violent dust storm blinded him at one point during the filming. He thought the footage would be lost. But at :32 on the video, you can see the Milky Way galaxy, shining through the dust storm.

What movement, what beauty do you see when you pause to look on your life and your child’s life, with the eyes of love today?
