Simple ways to empower your child before the school year begins

by Mary Mazzoni on August 15, 2012

How does your child feel about the new school year?

It’s not unusual for kids to experience uneasiness as the first day approaches. There are so many unknowns.

Anxiety can build unless kids have a chance to give voice to their questions and begin relationships with new teachers in a way that feels comfortable to them.

Here is a guest post I wrote for Special Education Advisor.

You’ll find simple ways to empower your child as the first day of school draws near.

These simple strategies not only reduce anxiety, but also help your child to develop self advocacy and communication skills - as well as getting their relationship with new teachers off to a positive start.

Have you tried any of these strategies? Do you have others to share? We’d love to hear from you!

Here’s to an empowering, positive school year for your child!

If you found this post helpful, please share it. Thanks!

This might be a good back to school article for the newsletter. If you’re not on FaceBook, I’ll ask the author if you want.
